The Challenge

The first Technology Innovation Challenge (TIC) seeks to find ways to address three (3) energy sector development challenges across ADB’s developing member countries through partnerships with technology providers.  

Technology providers are invited to submit a proposal on conducting a proof-of-concept or pilot of high level technology or solution to address development challenges. 

Three grants will be awarded to innovative solutions.  The selected proposal will receive a maximum of US$500,000 grant. Technology providers must co-finance at least 10% of the total cost.

The challenges area:

  • Efficient Heating and Cooling Solutions
  • Renewable Energy-Based Microgrids
  • Artificial Intelligence for Energy Demand Management
